From 1 March, Free Flow portals will be activated on the Asti-Castagnito motorway section, and will be used for toll collection from 1 September. Until that date, nothing will change for users.

It should be noted that the changeover to the Free Flow system will only affect section II (from Marene on the A6 motorway to Rocca Schiavino on the SS231 state road). Section I (from Cuneo to Massimini on the A6 motorway) will not be affected by the changes, and will continue to be operated with the traditional collection methods.

The transition to Free Flow involves the installation of eight in-line portals and a dedicated portal for the Verduno hospital. At the same time, the Govone barrier and the Cherasco tollgate will be gradually removed.

Activation Phases

Phase 1

1 March 2024, activation of 4 portals within the Asti area (Rocca Schiavino – Alba Est Castagnito).

Phase 2

July 2024, activation of portal 6 between Roddi and Alba Ovest and portal H Verduno Hospital

Phase 3

Once the section has been completed, portals 7 and 8 will be activated, and the Cherasco toll gate will be removed.

After taking over management of the Alba bypass from the motorway Concessionary Company, portal 5 will be activated.
